Light Audit Project
In November 2018, the City of Elgin, IL announced a plan to upgrade the cities over 6,500 existing streetlights to LED fixtures. TWiG launched the City of Elgin Light Audit Project. TWiG Technologies provided manpower and our proprietary TWiG Application to capture important data regarding each of the city’s fixtures. This audit was vital in preparation for the city’s LED upgrade project.
Elgin – O’Hare Western Bypass
Researched existing ROW plats, subdivision plats and PLSS monument records of nearly 1,000 parcels. Performed existing ROW survey of Elgin – O’Hare, Thorndale, I-294, I-90 & York Road, Mount Prospect Road, York Road, and West O’Hare boundary through West O’Hare loop area.
Performed PLSS survey that resulted in the creation of a base dgn file of existing ROW, PLSS lines, O’Hare west boundary, and import of alignments from corridor DSE. Recorded PLSS monument records at Cook and Dupage recorder of deeds offices
Prepared a parcel GIS database of the existing ROW parcels that provide digital access to field notes, monument records, existing ROW plats, subdivision plats, base dgn file, and parcel GIS in file depository available for download by ISTHA and design DSE’s for additional use by our appraisers and negotiators for the land acquisition phase of the project.
Additional work orders included the management of 60 “high value” appraisals and negotiations for the acquisition of properties for the Western Bypass along existing Thorndale Avenue. Reviewed over 700 Plats of Acquisition, Legal Descriptions and associated legal documents to ensure compliance with Illinois State Tollway requirements.
Plats of Acquisitions (POA’s) of IDOT owned parcels and street segments within EOWA Right of Way from Lake Street (US 20) to 1000 feet east of I-290. (approximately 140 POAs).
Surveyed encroachments and existing ROW to prepare preliminary POAs and legal descriptions. Coordinated POAs with IDOT and ISTHA to define POA limits and IDOT crossroads. Provided list of encroachments to ISTHA. Provided final deliverables of acquistion documents, negotiator checklists and POA dgns, gdb), Prepared plats of easement for the proposed ROW line in areas of encroachments upon IDOT ROW. Delivered a paper and GIS atlas of all acquisition parcels.
